Congratulations to the January Members of the Month: Ashley and Sarah Pimental! Since joining us this past summer, Sarah and Ashley have grown into weekday regulars. They both tied for 4th place in number of classes attended during the month of January, with 20 classes each!
Along with being some of the most dedicated members they are frequently attending social gatherings and spreading the word about CrossFit 1827 around Guelph. They have made big progress in their strength but also gymnastics and conditioning as well, rx-ing box jumps all day long and quietly pr-ing in the front! If you haven't had a chance to be in a class with Sarah or Ashley, they are a ton of fun. I am looking forward to what they will achieve in another year of training with us!

How did you get into CrossFit:
A - We came for bring a friend day with Emma in the summer, participated in a super hard partner wod that day and we were hooked and signed up for bootcamp the next day! We really love being a part of this community! I always look forward to coming in each day, especially if I’ve had a bad day, I always feel better after I leave!
S - We went to bring a friend day with Emma last summer and it was love at first WOD! We signed up for the next boot camp and then for the membership. All the coaches and other members are very welcoming and made us feel comfortable in something that seemed very intimidating.
Favourite Class Time to attend:
A - I like 9AM or 6:30PM which is when I can go with Sarah to class!
S - Usually evening classes unless feeling motivated enough to get out of bed for the 7am class.
A - I like Power Cleans, squats, pistols
S - I like cleans and strict press the most! I am weak in the press so I get most excited when I improve it.
Least Favourite Movement(s):
A - Thrusters & Burpees, I really dislike them both
S - Thrusters and wall balls.
Favourite Cheat Meal/Food:
A - It’s hard to choose just one! I love ice cream, cookies, anything full of sugar pretty much!
S - Hmmm there are too many to choose a favourite! Currently craving pizza and anything with lots of sugar.
