Congratulations to the December Member of the Month: Simon Morgan! Simon joined us at CrossFit 1827 (and started CrossFitting) when we were in the process of building the gym. He would volunteer his time with some reno work and join us for our daily workout we would hold to break up all the work!
Simon attended the second most CrossFit classes in all of 2018 and was the top male attendee overall! He attended 183 regular classes, not counting are the Yoga, Lifting and Open gym times he also frequently attends. His consistency shows by Pr-ing almost all his lifts every time we test maxes. You will also find him crushing most running WODs and attending all the gym social gatherings!
Simon exemplifies the member of the month by not only being dedicated to his training, but knowing most members in the gym. While not being the loudest member (that goes to Allan or Roger) he always introduces himself to people he doesn't know, really adding to the community at 1827!

How did you get started into CrossFit:
I was getting bored of doing my own workouts and wanted to challenge myself more than I was. I reached out to my friend Ellen who suggested showing up to CrossFit 1827. I was hooked after day 1. The variety of lifts/skill work is part of why I love it but the community is the reason I keep coming back.
Favourite Class Time to attend:
I'll attend the odd 6:00am but you'll likely find me at the 4:30 class.
Cleans, bar facing burpees and running.
Least Favourite Movement(s):
Thrusters. There's not a close second, thrusters suck.
Favourite Cheat Meal/Food:
Wings, nachos and beer... I know it's bad for me and I know I won't sleep well after but I don't care.
