Congratulations to the November Members of the Month: Matt Kurylo and Kendra Schnarr!
Matt and Kendra have only been with us for a few months, but it definitely feels like they have been with us since we have opened! If you haven't attended one of their CrossFit 1827 board game nights, you need to get to their December night because they host a great party! Not only do they really add to our community by hosting fun social evenings, they are super dedicated to attending classes and hardly miss a workout during the week.
You'll find them mostly at evening classes and if you haven't met them, they are quick to introduce themselves or offer to share their equipment if you are in need! Their consistency shows through their progress in strength, skills and overall health and wellness. It's members like Matt and Kendra who make CrossFit 1827 the best gym in Guelph!

How did you get started into CrossFit:
M - I was tired of being out of shape, did a free trial at another gym (Mr. Borghese famous obstacle course) and was hooked ever since.
K - Matt and I were both tired of spending so much of our down time just sitting around, and we figured CrossFit might be something that we could do together. I won't say it was love at first sight (I hobbled around for about a week after our first class), but I've come to seriously love and appreciate CrossFit and everything that goes along with it - bruises and sore muscles included. Shout out to 1827 for making me genuinely excited to come to class every day - I always leave feeling better than when I walked in.
Favourite class time to attend?
M - 4:30 or 5:30
K - 4:30 or 5:30pm. If you see me there before 9am hell has probably frozen over - mornings are for coffee and silence.
M - Handstands, SDHP and Happy Baby(Yah, try and get that image out of your head)
K - Squats, rope climbs, and handstands
Least favourite movements?
M - Running & Thrusters
K - Running, snatches, and burpees
Favourite cheat food/ meal?
M - Cookies and Pop
K - Anything and everything carb-related. Current favourites include: obnoxiously fancy Starbucks drinks, donuts, and freshly baked bread.
