New strength cycle starts this week! After some huge PRs last week, we will get right into some volume!
For those who would like to know a little bit about the next strength cycle It's going to be an 11 week block. we'll be taking a 5 week block to gain some muscles (hypertrophy) followed by another 5 week strength cycle, followed by max out week (week 11).
A good explaination for why/how this would work is in the article attached, but i've summarized it briefly in the take away points!
Take away points:
- even if you're only concerned about gaining strength (not size) both need to be addressed in training
- These should be addressed sequentially hypertrophy before strength, not simultaneously
- in phase 1 one you'll gain muscle while maintaining strength, and in phase 2 you'll gain strength while maintaining your new muscles!
